Mindset: Hungry. Determined.
Weight: 237 (Target is 185) (Lost 1 Pound Since Start)
Diet: The last few days I’ve been doing fairly well on the starter diet. Lots of water, a EAS shake or bar for breakfast and lunch, and some kind of normal meal that isn’t over portioned.
On day 2 I ran into a tough situation, A cookout party. I had already eaten my lunch bar, but there was food there and I was asked if I wanted anything, i couldn’t resist so I asked for a plain hot dog and a small portion of the pasta salad. I ended up removing the bun and eating the hotdog without it. (took 1 bite of the bread) and split the portion of pasta i was given and only ate half of that and asked my wife to finish it before i could change my mind. An hour later I couldn’t resist grabing another bun-less plain dog. But to compensate, I skipped a dinner and just at another bar instead, so all things considered, I think I did O.K.
Workout: On average and at a minimum I’m doing 25 Sit ups, 10 push ups, 50 jumping jacks, and light Jogging right now. These numbers will go up as I get accustomed to working out again, eventually leading me to a point where I can attempt P90-X without risk of serious injury. I have no illusions about my current physical level and if I’m going to do it right, I need to build back slowly. I’m sure I’ll be repeating this message.
Set-up: First day back to the Gym today. I will also ad the reminder to my calender so that it texts me, which will help remind me when to go to the gym so that I can build up a routine that will lead to a new habit.
Thoughts: Hunger. My stomach is used to big portions. I don’t know how long it takes to get accustomed to eating less and more often instead of a lot at one time once a day, but so far, so good.
The trick? Hunger = Water & Nuts. Every time I feel hungry I have been getting to a water source as soon as I can and drinking my fill, then I hit up my bag of trail mix for a few bites. I’ve learned that nuts are great a curbing hunger, you just got to have the patience to deal with it until your body starts talking to your brain.
I am almost sure that the reason so many people are overweight now is because of the delay between when we actually become full and when our brain get’s the memo. There are things that can be done to help with that, which I’ll go into more detail about later, as i actually want to practice it before speaking.
